Open from mid-November through December, Hershey Candylane will get you in the holiday spirit with festive holiday decorations and thousands of twinkling lights. There are over 30 rides in operation, however, well over half of them are kiddie rides and mild thrill rides.
Typically, a couple high thrill rides are running, but the park is definitely geared to the 10 and under set during Christmas Candylane. Kids (and adults!) can also stop by Santa's barn to visit with live reindeer.
Insider Tip: If you want to save a little time (and cash!)consider eating at one of the nearby quick service restaurants before you enter the park.
The holiday show at the Chevrolet Music Box Theater is a must! We have always been impressed with the quality of the shows here and find them to be a cut above standard amusement park entertainment. Shows typically run about 30 minutes, are family friendly, interesting enough for all ages and included in your admission fee.
Park hours vary during the holiday season. Consult the Hershey Candylane schedule for more information.
One of our favorite Christmas in Hershey activities is the Christmas Adventure Trolley Works Tour. This 35 minute trolley ride through the town of Hershey features a host of characters including a very special visitor. Group caroling keeps the little ones entertained during the ride. Trolley tour reservations are booked and paid for at Hershey's Chocolate World which is also the departure point for tours. These tours are very popular with families and tend to fill up fast. We have always had good luck booking the first trolley of the morning as soon as Chocolate World opens.
Hershey Chocolate World is another great attraction to visit while you're at Hershey's Christmas Candylane. In addition to the Great American Chocolate Tour, Chocolate World offers an entertaining 3D show, chocolate tasting adventure and plenty more to keep you entertained for a couple hours. Learn more about Hershey Chocolate World.
Hershey Sweet Lights is an evening attraction that many families enjoy. This is a drive-thru holiday light display that includes 600 illuminated and animated displays. Drive through over two miles of holiday displays while listening to programmed Christmas music on your car radio.
Insider Tip: For overnight stays on the weekends, many Hershey hotels require a two night minimum during Christmas in Hershey. We usually have success booking a one night weekend stay (over Thanksgiving weekend no less!) at the nearby Hampton Inn which is only about a mile from the park.
